Hi! I am 30 years old and I´ve been a U2 fan since I was 11. I live in Panama (yes, that country in Central America) and U2´s music has been an inspiration all my life. As living in this country, spanish is tha national language, and I can tell that I ´ve improved my english because of U2. The first song I know from U2 was "Bad"; I still remember myself playing with my barbie dolls and I´ve heard that song on the radio, and I said "wait a minute, I like that voice"; I didnt know too much about music, but was something in that song and that voice that turned on my fascination. I recorded it from the radio station, and wrote the lyrics and translated it and I fell in love with someone I ´ve never seen. Then The Joshua Tree came out and I saw them on TV; I just recall those days when everybody was talking about U2 and I feel proud to like them, I feel I know them since all my life. They helped me on my growing process. There are so many songs that I still need to listen to feel inspired or to raise my spirit when something´s going bad. I had the opportunity to travel to Denver, Co. to see them on the PopMart tour, was amazing! and I´ve just came from Seattle , I went there to see the Vertigo Tour! People think I am crazy, I am already married with two kids, and I´m still running behind U2!! It´s a love that wont stop, and because I know its hard to wait for a show in Panama, I have to go wherever possible to see them!! And the weirdest thing now is that my two kids (5 and 3 years old) love U2! they ,love Vertigo and can sing it and they play pretending they are Bono and The Edge, they want to go out on sunglasses and black jackets (I dont know where they get that ideas?) I just love to see them liking the music that can change their lives! What a blessing!
